A Word from the Sellers:
To the prospective buyers of 2/3 Goolwa Street...I hope you love our house as much as we have!
The more we think about our house and the community we live in - the harder it is for us to leave. Unfortunately for us there is little choice. My eldest daughter is now at university in Brisbane, and I am tiring of my 50 minute drive to work each day. My husband is being a champion at understanding my need to be closer to both work and our daughter. There are so many things about our lifestyle here that we will miss dearly - from the uncrowded beaches this side of the river; to lazing around the pool and having lunch at the Novotel just ten minutes south; and knowing we will never own such a unique property again.
We fell in love with our house when we first saw it on the internet back in 2008. When we inspected the home for the first time -we knew it had to be ours! Immediately we adored the breathtaking views; including not just the beautiful blue ocean, but also Buderim and the greenery around.
Over the years we have appreciated more and more the tranquillity of our hill top paradise. The sound of the birds chirping; the breezes we collect from the ocean and when you gaze out from the deck, the trees create an even more apparent feeling of peace and quiet.
Situated as it is, the traffic is minimal, and the driveway and privacy of the house repels unwanted door knockers from venturing up the stairs! The feeling of security is reassuring.
Many advantages come with living on top of a hill besides the incredible views. For instance; we never have to worry in bad weather! Mount Coolum seems to protect us from the majority of storms, and we certainly don't have to worry about flooding!
At Christmas and New Year; as well as countless other 'special' occasions - we don't have to travel anywhere to watch the Fireworks! Just sit back and relax on the deck and enjoy the show!
As a busy working couple with children, we were particularly drawn to the low-maintenance aspect of the house. Our children were older - 6 and 14 years old - when we moved here. The 6 year old loved the pool and lizard-catching. Our 14 year old enjoyed the privacy of her 'teenage retreat'; watching her TV; enjoying the wireless and spending a long time in her own shower.
If we wanted to visit the park and beach - it is only 2kms away! It has been wonderful spending time at the beach - getting all hot and sandy, then escaping home for a relaxing swim in the pool. Speaking of the pool - we have owned a few homes with pools and this is the easiest pool to maintain! It is fibreglass and so easy to clean and the efficient salt-water chlorinator requires little effort.
Being a busy couple, it is brilliant to be able to pop a minute down the road to Woolies to grab a few bits and pieces through the week - especially when it doesn't shut until 9pm! We enjoy staying fit and healthy and the new Jett's gym is only a minute away also.
Being an asthmatic myself and allergic to dust - I love the timber floors and zero carpet factor! Nestled into the north-eastern side of a mountain - we are fully protected from the harsh western sun! This makes for a cooler house in summer!
My husband and I are coffee addicts - and are madly in love with the Merlo coffee from Cafe Coolum on Birtwell Street! We are regulars at the Coffee Club and Thai restaurants and the warmth and friendliness of the shop owners in the community is wonderful.
We hope you too feel the specialness of our property - we have put 5 years of blood, sweat and money into making it even more special! We know you will fall in love with the peace, tranquillity and security of this gorgeous spot.
