Another Busy Weekend Ahead For The Sunshine Coast

Spring is finally here, and before long we’ll be counting down to Christmas!  Last weekend we had an extraordinarily large volume of people coming through our open homes, most of them genuine buyers and many ready to purchase now.  Spring is always a flurry of activity in the property market, and all signs are boding well for a bumper season this year.

This Sunday Mooloolaba will again be showcased to the world when it hosts the Ironman 70.3 World Championship – the first time ever this event has been held on Australian soil.  Athletes from all over the world will be competing and it is a fantastic event not just for competitors but spectators also.

Competitors will take part in the best that Mooloolaba has to offer, starting with a swim at Mooloolaba’s spectacular surf beach. The ocean swim consists of a one-lap course following a counter-clockwise direction. The bike course will be a challenging one lap route incorporating a flat and fast section on the Sunshine Motorway prior to an undulating lap through the hinterland.

From transition, runners will head north and onto Mooloolaba Esplanade. After heading over the Alexandra Headland hill, athletes will continue to Cotton Tree via Sixth Avenue and Alexandra Parade. Athletes will follow the same route for the second lap along a spectator-lined course before finishing in the heart of Mooloolaba. The kids also get a chance to compete in the IRONKIDS Sunshine Coast event taking place this Saturday 3rd September from 8:00am at Charles Clarke Park Mooloolaba; children aged 7-13 can participate.

Don’t forget it is Father’s Day on Sunday also! Happy Father’s Day to all the dads out there, we hope you all have a wonderful day.

Finally, congratulations to Lachie Smart from the Sunshine Coast, now officially the youngest pilot to fly solo around the world; at just 18, a remarkable achievement.  Lachie landed at Sunshine Coast airport on Saturday morning after circumnavigating the globe in a single engine plane. A truly inspirational story!
