Congratulations are in order for Mark McGill being chosen as a finalist for Outstanding Employee of the Year in the 2013 Sunshine Coast Excellence in Business Awards. We also are pleased to announce Amber Werchon Property is a finalist in the Professional/Business Services category. The winners will be announced at a Gala event in November…we are looking forward to a great evening, regardless of outcome.

Well Mooloolaba was a hive of activity over the weekend, hosting the inaugural Ironman 70.3 event – the first ever Ironman event for the region and what a huge success it was. Online registrations sold out in less than 2 hours, with 1960 athletes from all over the world registering to compete – one third of competitors were from interstate and overseas, so it is definitely a great way to bring people into our region. Congratulations to winner Pete Jacobs from Noosa and a big well done to all who pushed their boundaries and competed, the spectators certainly enjoyed the spectacle and local businesses were also winners.

The Coast is gearing up for a busy time, especially Mooloolaba with the commencement of the school holidays on the weekend, so ensure you make any visitors you cross paths with feel very welcome…tourism is a vital part of our economy. If you are travelling anywhere yourself for the holidays, please travel safely.
