An interesting article in the recent “My Weekly Preview” publication, reported on the origins of the term ‘Sunshine Coast’. It may surprise some of you to know that the term ‘Sunshine Coast’ covering Caloundra to Noosa and hinterland areas, only became official in 1967. Prior to that, this region was referred to by several titles, including the ‘North Coast’. In the late 1950’s, a group of property investors, along with the local branch of the REIQ began brainstorming to come up with a term that would be appealing to tourists and rebrand the area. They originally came up with ‘Suncoast’, however someone else had already beaten them to it, so ‘Sunshine Coast’ it became; or ‘Sunny Coast’ as many of us locals affectionately refer to it!
This week, I would also like to warmly welcome our new Office Manager, Vanessa Hart to the team. Vanessa has had experience across the spectrum of roles in real estate offices and brings with her a wealth of knowledge and skills, and will oversee the daily operations of all aspects of the office from Sales, Property Management, and Administration. We are so pleased to have her on board!
Enjoy this beautiful weather and have a great weekend all.
