Wet weather rocked the Coast

Hopefully by now the after affects of Cyclone Marcia are ebbing away and everyone came out unscathed. Living in such a beautiful part of Australia does come with its dangers during the cyclone season, this time around those in Mooloolaba saw the water spout hit Mooloolaba State School and many were house bound with more than 50 road closures.

The Queensland Government has a great Disaster Management page which you can visit here for future reference on how to keep you, your family and your property safe this cyclone season.

Sunshine Coast star real estate performer

The Sunshine Coast has been outlined as one of the top performers in the REIQ’s latest Market Update.

The Coast recorded a 7.2 per cent increase in median house values in 2014 compared to previous years, with a large improvement in the days on market figures. Eighty-four per cent of houses sold on the Sunshine Coast over 2014 went for higher than the previous sale price, just below Brisbane which recorded 96 per cent of house sell for profit.

REIQ CEO Antonia Mercorella said that the historically low interest rates had delivered a crucial boost to buyer confidence, with investors eyeing further capital gains in 2015.
