2016 Australian Surf Life Saving Championships coming our way!

Well, it might be chilly but what glorious, crisp clear days we are enjoying, no wonder people move here from colder climates…we simply have the best winters in the world!

This Saturday we are holding two on-site Auctions in ‘hot hot hot’ beachside locations, the first at 12 noon 4/16 Meta Street, Mooloolaba in the chic Oxygen complex – the same complex where a recent Auction we held drew a record crowd.  At 2pm 106 Oceanic Drive, Warana is showcased – a fantastic, renovated family home with inground pool footsteps from the beach in one of the Coast’s most sought after suburbs!

The second week of the school holidays is proving to be a great boom for the Coast, with lots of families enjoying the temperate winter weather and soaking up our sunshine.  For those still on holidays, continue to relax and explore our beautiful region from the Coast to the Hinterland.

Another action packed week of sport has been stimulating all you armchair enthusiasts from a thrilling Wimbledon final on Sunday night, last night’s final State of Origin for 2014, well done QLD and of course the World Cup final in Brazil occurring on Monday at 5am…one for the early birds!

If you haven’t already heard, some great news for the Sunshine Coast is that we are to host the 2016 Australian Surf Life Saving Championships.

Sunshine Coast Council Mayor Mark Jamieson signed the formal agreement at Alexandra Headland Surf Life Saving Club and said that not only does the event draw 7,000 competitors, but also attracts a whopping further 15,000 supporters…good news indeed for local businesses.

The 2016 Australian Surf Life Saving Championship will also coincide with the 100th anniversary of surf living saving on the Sunshine Coast.

We look forward to not only embracing this event, but welcoming all these visitors to our region.
