It is Auction action again this weekend with FOUR Auctions across Saturday starting at Mount Coolum and finishing at Warana…click here for details.  Last Saturday Karine Wright sold 19 Burremah Crescent under the hammer for $460,000 and the buyers cannot wait to move into their new home and be a part of the wonderful Mount Coolum community.

There are many exciting things happening across the Sunshine Coast all the time; and one that caught my attention of late is the Urban Food Street project in Buderim.  Costa Georgiadis of the ABC’s Gardening Australia Program visited Buderim’s Urban Food Street precinct recently and was very impressed with the concept and the way the community are working together to embrace not only fresh produce but make new friendships.  Joey and Jess Ruskin, husband and wife team from our office, are proud members of this ongoing project, which now has in excess of 90 families involved.

Urban Food Street is a concept that started when two neighbours, shocked by the $1.50 price tag for a single lime, decided to grow a tree each on their footpath. Every form of vegetable, fruit and herb imaginable is now planted and harvested along a network of streets to a co-ordinated plan that is softening the look and feel of a neighbourhood.

Instead of people living within their fence line and behind closed doors, they are now engaged on the street in a common purpose that involves everyone from toddlers to the elderly.

On a different note, there is only 10 weeks until Christmas  – so if you had any thoughts of selling or buying and want to be in your new home on Christmas Day, you need to act immediately; it is certainly possible, but time is of the essence!
