LAST Saturday one of our Agents, Jared Young, successfully sold his own home under the hammer after an intense 21 day Auction campaign. Up to 200 people attended the Kimberly Court property in Buderim and with eight registered bidders, the competition was robust.
With 175 inspections over the two weeks leading up to Auction day, Jared was confident that he would be able to secure a result on the day. Jared believes the key to a successful campaign is investment in marketing – he advertised in Domain as well as paying for premium positioning on-line to enhance his position in page, as well as presence in a crowded market.
The Auction event, expertly handled by Auctioneer Justin Voss, was a perfect example of how Auctions work so well to create a competitive environment, therefore exerting upward pressure on price, and also securing an unconditional contract on the day. Jared and his family can now move on, with a sale achieved within 21 days, as opposed to sitting on the market with a price for months, like some properties have been.
For properties that don’t sell under the hammer on the day, statistics demonstrate that a sale is secured very soon after the Auction campaign, as the process gives the owner a clear idea of where the market sits, and they can then price accordingly.
