Easter is just a few mere few days away, but for most families this year, Easter festivities will look a little different. With children needing to be kept inside and entertained, there’s plenty you can do to keep the joy flourishing.
Use the extra time over this four-day break to visit your inner child, celebrate and enjoy Easter however you can.
Egg and spoon race
An oldie but a goodie, egg and spoon races need little explanation. Reach for the carton of eggs in the fridge and, before you get started, have everyone in the house take the time to decorate their eggs. Or to keep the Easter theme running, and to limit spilt egg on the carpet, use chocolate eggs instead of real eggs.
In a time when you might be spending more time indoors, this is a great game for heading outside into the backyard and getting that heart rate up.
Recipe testing
Isolation has certainly been a time to get creative in the kitchen, and luckily this Easter Cadbury has put together some recipes to make the most of all those Easter eggs lying around the house.
With a stack of recipes like Cadbury Crème Egg Brownies, Easter Cookie Sandwich, Hedgehog Slice and Caramilk and White Chocolate Cheesecake, the options are endless and a food coma is inevitable.
Egg hunt
Easter wouldn’t be complete without an egg hunt. Cadbury has provided their tips for making the Easter egg hunt special this year, at a time when we all need some extra joy in our lives.
DIY craft session
What’s Easter without an Easter egg hunt? Unleash your inner artist and craft an Easter masterpiece. This can be especially helpful if you have young ones around who need constant entertainment.
Set up stations of different textures and products found at home to work with like leaves and flowers from the garden, yarn and twine, cotton, crayons, acrylic paints, food colouring, egg cartons, buttons and newspapers.
With all the de-cluttering going on, this might be a solution to getting rid of the extra bits and bobs you have lying around.
Bake hot cross buns
Easter and hot cross buns go together like peas and carrots, but with the extra time on your hands, why not try your hand at baking some instead of grabbing them from the supermarket?
While there are many recipes making the rounds online, baking professional Maggie Beer’s traditional recipe looks too good to pass up.
Indulge in a hearty meal
If Easter is a time you usually celebrate with family or friends, preparing a meal with those in your home can be a great way to celebrate. Take some time to cook, laugh and enjoy the company of those around you. And if you’re on your own, jump on FaceTime or Skype and enjoy a virtual Easter dinner with friends and family.
Just a reminder that our offices will be closed over the Easter long weekend, and we will reopen for business Tuesday 14th April at 8:30 am.
