Greetings on Easter eve…for those of you travelling, please take care and stay safe, for those relaxing at home, enjoy a break, we certainly will. For many, Easter is a deeply religious celebration; we need to be mindful of that also whilst being bombarded by adverts for chocolate eggs!
Out of respect for Easter weekend, we won’t be holding any Auctions this weekend; however, next Saturday a beautiful family home in a quiet pocket of Alexandra Headland will be showcased at Auction and a sale under the hammer is highly anticipated. Check out: https://www.amberwerchon.com.au/1496528/. The Auction is at 3:00 pm, all welcome.
With Easter weekend on our doorstep there will be a huge variety of things to do on the Sunshine Coast, from going to the beach, dining out or partaking in one of the many events and long weekend festivals occurring. One really popular place to go and enjoy great music and a variety of good food is the Ocean Street Night Markets in Maroochydore. The organisers are also holding a special free Easter Sunday event: http://oceanstreetworldfestival.com.au/ – it definitely looks worth checking out if you are looking for something to do.
Ending this week’s newsletter on an even brighter note, this week we have been delivered some very positive news about jobs growth on the Sunshine Coast by Member for Maroochydore Fiona Simpson, MLA who reports:
“The Sunshine Coast is out in front and Sunshine Coast businesses have created more jobs than any other region in the latest ABS data which shows there are 11,300 more people in work in the region than 12 months ago. The unemployment rate has fallen 0.6 percentage points to 6.1%.”
“After some tough years for many businesses and job seekers, there is still a way to go but the positive figures are welcome and heading in the right direction.”
Good news indeed. Happy Easter!
