Pacific Pearl visits our shores!

I am truly honoured and humbled to announce that I have been named as a Finalist in the Young Business Woman of the Year Category in the upcoming Sunshine Coast Business Women’s Network Awards.  SCBWN do a wonderful job connecting, inspiring and mentoring women in a variety of industries across the Sunshine Coast, as well as fostering and seeking opportunities for personal and professional development.  Their annual awards event is highly regarded and well patronised amongst Coast professionals; I look forward to the gala evening in August and thank all my team once again for their ongoing support and also extend my best wishes and congratulations to all finalists.

Last Saturday Mooloolaba locals welcomed passengers from cruise ship Pacific Pearl onto its shores; and it was such a boost to the local economy and a wonderful way to showcase Mooloolaba and our region.  Mooloolaba Business and Tourism president David Mares estimates the 1700 tourists provided a $250,000 boost to the economy.  I’m sure traders are eagerly waiting the next boat load!

In another big week of sport the Aussies went on to win the second Test at Lords, making it an even series to date…we look forward to the next Test at Edgbaston starting on July 29, bring it home boys!  In other sporting news, images of Aussie surfing pro Mick Fanning’s close encounter with a shark in South Africa whilst competing, has been shared across social media websites and broadcast in almost every nation; thank goodness it was a happy outcome!

Have a great weekend – for those looking for something special to do, check out the events at the Noosa Long Weekend, which continues this weekend, concluding on Sunday.
