How wonderful it is to be a Queenslander today! Well done to the mighty maroons on a convincing victory last night in front of their home crowd to win the State of Origin series. Over in Cardiff in the UK our cricketers also got off to a cracking start on the first day of the first test in the Ashes series. Good news is always welcome in an environment often dominated by negative news or catastrophic events.
The economic woes of Greece and more worryingly for Australia, the slowing down of the economy in China has been the subject of much commentary this past week and time will tell the full extent of the fallout and how much impact it will have on Australia – it’s already hit our dollar and our stock market reasonably hard. However, the property market is still travelling along very well; despite warnings of a property bubble the Sydney and Melbourne markets were again recording amazing results over the past weekend and the Sunshine Coast market is very healthy indeed.
Senior Research Analyst Cameron Kusher from RP Data reports in his forecast for the next 12 months that certain regions, including the Sunshine Coast will experience further growth in the market.
Jason Andrew, of The Jason Andrew group reports:
“With limited stock in many areas and the cash rate remaining on hold, the winter market is offering prime conditions for the majority of sellers. While the forward facing predictions continue to vary, good decisions can only be made on the basis of the presenting environment.”
Have a great weekend everyone and if you’re looking for something to do, the Queensland Garden Expo is on at the Nambour Showgrounds, definitely worth checking out. It’s back to school next week for Queensland school children, so watch out for the increased traffic around school zones.
