Award winning Auctioneer Jason Andrew has reported the national auction clearance rate spiking last week to 64%, the highest sale rate recorded over recent weeks. Jason attributes this mainly to a moderation in vendor reserve prices which drove motivated buyers to act.
With the official cash interest rate on hold for now, the latest employment data reflects higher than expected jobs growth which may have an upward impact on interest rates. It will be interesting to monitor the impact of Tuesday’s Federal Budget decisions on consumer confidence, because this will also have an impact on future interest rate decisions.
